The instructor in this position will design courses and teach students in the following subjects: computer hardware and software maintenance and helpdesk; data communications and network administration; operating systems; office applications; and introductory computer courses.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Develop and teach face-to-face, online and blended courses.
Teach daytime, nighttime, and online courses to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
Participate in department decision-making on budgeting, scheduling and selecting textbooks.
Participate in department meetings, department Advisory Committee, and extra-curricular opportunities as part of the larger college community.
Interact with students using a variety of teaching methods, hold office hours, and participate in student organizations such as computer clubs.
Participate in department assessment, outreach programs, student recruiting, and student open house events.

Occupational Experience Requirement
Five full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in computer technology support.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Teaching knowledge of Microsoft, and/or Mac and/or Linux operating systems
Teaching knowledge of PC hardware maintenance and repair
Network administration experience
Experience teaching, especially with multicultural and non-traditional students.
Experience teaching or training in a two-year college or technical college setting
Experience teaching introductory computer courses to students without previous computer experience
Teaching knowledge of project management and database administration
Excellent organizational and human relations skills
Willingness to participate in activities supporting a culture of continuous improvement in all collegiate areas

About MINNEAPOLIS COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public two-year college located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
