The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking qualified applicants for a Program Coordinator I to assist in the oversight of a new National Research Traineeship program.
The Program Coordinator I will serve as primary point of contact for trainees, communicate with the graduate support staff in the trainees' home departments and the Graduate College, and monitor trainees' completion of training activities. The responsibilities will include collecting data for use by the project evaluator; assisting in planning and scheduling learning community activities, and managing the administrative aspects of distributing funds. The Program Coordinator I will also maintain the traineeship website, coordinate admissions and administration of the associated graduate certificate program, and coordinate the annual meeting and research symposium. The Program Coordinator I will assist trainees in completing their Program of Study documentation with coursework to obtain the certificate and including co-advisors to represent both an emphasis on food-energy-water system interactions and an emphasis on modeling and data analytics.
The successful candidate will have effective management and organizational skills, the ability to work well with a diverse population, and the ability to communicate effectively. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Research-oriented master's degree.
Experience communicating educational program requirements and procedures.
Experience with data analysis.
Experience with productivity software.
Experience with project management.
