The New England Centenarian Study (NECS) based on Boston University's medical campus is seeking a full-time research project manager/coordinator. The NECS is the largest sociodemographic and genetic study of exceptional longevity in the world with over 2,000 subjects enrolled. We also are building an unprecedented sample of people over the age of 110 years. The NECS is also one of 4 Study Centers participating in the Long Life Family Study, a study of families that cluster for exceptional longevity. Together, these studies constitute one of the premier studies in the world of factors that contribute to healthy aging and exceptional longevity
The NECS believes that cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. To that end, we are especially eager to have join our ranks a colleague who supports our institutional commitment to ensuring that Boston University is inclusive, equitable, diverse, and a place where all constituents can thrive.
The research project manager is responsible for the day to day operations and oversight of two specific NIH-funded research projects. They in turn report to the Principal Investigators of the study. Data are collected by up to 9 research assistants via phone, mail and in-person visits (which may be anywhere in the US and Canada) from the oldest people in the world and their family members. Responsibilities include assurance that the study protocols are being adhered to, helping with subject recruitment, training and working with the research assistants on practically a daily basis, submitting amendments to the Institutional Review Board protocols and managing study budgets, invoicing and regular problem solving.
Master's degree and 3-5 years' experience required.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
