The Senior IT Consultant (Instructional Technology Consultant) is responsible for supporting faculty using complex software applications, provides consulting, technical support, and training to software users or users of complex and specialized application software. In addition to support this position will serve as a project manager in the implementation and support of complex software and services. As a project manager the position will require the ability to delegate as well as perform numerous tasks such as product documentation and testing.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years of information technology consulting experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Excellent English oral and written communication skills
Ability to balance multiple priorities
Project management and customer service skills
Knowledge and ability to utilize a support/problem tracking system
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Education and Experience:
Master s degree, distance education and teaching experience
Instructional technology consulting experience
Project Management experience
Experience in customer support, call centers, Learning Management Systems, and Higher Education
As a member of the ITS support staff, provides consultative service and 40 Support to customers using complex software applications on a beginner to intermediate level via departmental support mediums (e.g., email, telephone, webinar, face to face). Responsible for guiding, coordinating, supporting and administering services related to the LMS (eCampus}, mobile applications, and lecture capture and general instructional technologies. Researches complex software application problems and recommends solutions for customers. Maintains expertise on complex software applications. Participates in customer problem tracking to include the execution of in-depth testing and analysis for software problems as part of the problem management process. Executes functional software testing activities on supported software applications as part of the software release and deployment process. Processes customer Requests for accounts, enrollments, courses, and administration related activities within the Blackboard Learn software application. Provides workarounds and/or resolution to technical issues presented by customers using ITS supported software applications.
In addition to customer support this position will serve as a project manager in the implementation and support of complex software and services. As a project manager the position will require the ability to delegate as well as perform numerous tasks such as product documentation and testing.
Works with a departmental team of employees in the design, development, publication, and continuous improvement of technical documentation for the purpose of customer publication. Produces reports and summaries for management and/or users including status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports. Provides resource estimates and progress reports.
Participates in professional development and training
Creates customer communication related to ITS supported products and services. Communication will channels include web-sites, e-mail, print, newsletters, etc.
