Summary: Organizes, plans, and implements a telemarketing program to secure unrestricted annual gifts from alumni, parents, friends, and others in support of Wake Forest University. Supervises a team of student workers including hiring, scheduling, and directing the activities of a 14-station call center. Assists Senior Director of Direct Marketing and Gift Administration with coordinating direct marketing efforts and emails for University Advancement. Provides digital marketing support for the Wake Forest Fund. Serves as the primary point of contact for all crowdfunding initiatives.
Prepares, in consultation with other staff members, a detailed, fiscal year, telemarketing plan (including measurable outcomes, solicitation programs and strategies, and coordinated solicitation calendar, etc.) to increase annual giving dollars and participation percentages.
Identifies, recruits, trains, and motivates up to fifty part-time student callers to have high quality conversations with prospective donors with consistent messaging across the Wake Forest Fund.
Produces mailings, calling scripts, and collateral materials associated with the telemarketing program.
Creates effective call segments to leverage possible connections between callers and prospects based on demographic and activity information or on the skill set of callers.
Administers the crowdfunding platform.
Serves as the primary point of contact for crowdfunding initiatives and manages the relationship with our crowdfunding platform provider.
Works with campus partners; mainly Athletics and Student Life to co-ordinate crowdfunding projects.
Effectively handles prospect and donor questions and concerns.
Coordinates data management activities with other staff as needed.
Performs regularly scheduled data analysis to determine progress toward goals, caller rankings, and calling assignments.
Processes pledge reminder mailings for fulfillment of pledges made through the call center.
Serves as unit expert for Campus Call software and related interfaces with Blackbaud CRM.
Assists with data segmentation and management to support direct marketing, email, and the phon-a-thon.
Provides editing and proofreading expertise.
Assists Senior Director of Direct Marketing and Gift Administration with coordinating all direct marketing efforts for University Advancement that require use of external mail house operations.
Assists other units in Advancement with email and direct marketing invitations as requested.
Assists Senior Director of Direct Marketing and Gift Administration with management and execution of direct mail and email associated with the Wake Forest Fund including all sub components (including Business, Divinity, Law, ZSR Library, the Parents Campaign) as well as Academic Department and Campus Ministry marketing initiatives.
Works with Gift Administration to ensure that the crowdfunding contributions are complete and recorded accordingly.
Provides digital marketing support to the Wake Forest Fund including content management and execution for social media platforms, email, and texting.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree with at least one-year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of educational fundraising principles, methods, and techniques.
General knowledge of fundraising techniques.
Detail oriented in coordinating activities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to multi-task and demonstrate sound judgment and discretion.
Excellent proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, the Internet, and other relevant software. Proficiency in the operation of standard office equipment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to research, collect, and analyze data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to identify and target prospects and to plan, organize, and direct solicitation programs.
Knowledge of University policies and procedures, or ability to acquire knowledge in a short period of time.
Ability to thoroughly plan and implement work, including goals, budget, timetables, and action steps to achieve objectives.
Ability to motivate others and work effectively with other staff members, campus representatives, and students.
Ability to maintain flexible work hours according to call center needs and volume.
Experience in an annual giving environment, especially within higher education.
Supervises student workers.
