The EMEA Chief Risk Office (CRO) function was established in 2013 to support the EMEA Chief Risk Officer and the cross risk interactions in the EMEA region. The team consists of a Legal Entity Risk Strategy function, which comprises the Legal Entity Risk Governance team and the Legal Entity Risk Support & Strategic Projects team as well as a Business Management Team and Risk Control Office. The team is responsible for oversight of the Legal Entity Risk Management function in EMEA, across all lines of business. The successful candidate will work across the Risk stripes in EMEA and partner with groups including Office of the Secretary, Oversight and Control, Compliance, Finance, EMEA regulatory affairs and the firmwide risk governance team. The candidate will also assist with the implementation of global LE Risk initiatives and liaise with risk governance teams in other regions to drive consistency.
Provide support to the regional Legal Entity Risk Managers and Chief Risk Officers.
Provide support for risk governance meetings (including risk committees, board meetings and Directors Risk Policy Committees (DRPC)). This includes setting agendas, writing high quality minutes and making changes to eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy.
Draft executive-level presentations and talking points for senior leaders to use with internal stakeholders.
For the purposes of NBIA, represent the Legal Entity Risk Managers and Chief Risk Officers at NBIA working group meetings, providing second line of defence oversight and challenge of new initiatives. Be able to identify changes that materially impact the risk profile of a legal entity and provide recommendations for approval.
Participate and where appropriate lead projects which impact Legal Entity Risk in EMEA including in the Office of Legal Obligation (OLO) initiative.
As necessary, support the broader EMEA CRO team and global team in other areas including preparation of strategic plans, metrics, reporting, cross-business initiatives and process/control redesign.
In partnership with the Risk Control Office, prepare information for visits by the PRA, FCA and other Regulators and assist in composing responses to requests for information from the UK Regulators (PRA and FCA) and other regulatory bodies in the EMEA region.
Play an active role in the ongoing maintenance and testing of the EMEA LE Risk Team's PARC for RCSA purposes
Desired skillset/Experience Required
Experience in financial services or related field (previous experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal/External Audit or other control function desired)
An interest in or of understanding effective governance
First-class business judgment and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong project management skills; ability to, influence, gain consensus and drive initiatives to completion effectively
Strong analytical skills with ability to aggregate data and identify root causes
Superior organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure with commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and processes.
