Reporting to the Associate Director of Development Communications, the coordinator serves as project manager for all direct marketing appeal campaigns to Harvard Business School alumni. Assists in the preparation, planning, and fulfillment of both print and email solicitations—in accordance with pre-determined strategies—including timeline management and coordination with vendors and in-house e-marketing manager. Serves as the main point of contact for Annual and Reunion Giving staff regarding appeal production and related inquiries.
As appeals project manager, key responsibilities include:
Proofing message segmentation and appeal authorship to ensure alignment with mailing list data
Coordinating on data files with ERIT department and vendors/e-marketing manager
Reviewing real-time results in collaboration with ERIT analysts and associate director of development communications, and assisting associate director in assessing effectiveness of strategies and tactics
Supporting the strategic segmentation development
Creating a social media fundraising strategy to accompany print and email solicitations—working in collaboration with supervisor and social media manager
Working with Staff Assistant on in-house mailings
Maintaining suite of direct marketing design files
Works on other Development Communication projects and administrative tasks and any other duties as needed.

5 or more years of related experience required.
The ideal candidate will have proven, high-level project management experience, including the ability to manage work involving multiple players from various departments; knowledge of annual giving; experience with direct marketing (mail, email and social media) strategy, execution, and analytics. Candidates must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, superb attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and balance priorities with ease.
Preferred computer skills: familiarity with Advance or other alumni database platforms, social media platforms, Workfront, and Adobe InDesign.
Proficiency in Excel is required.
