The Associate Director of Executive Education provides leadership in the overall implementation and administration of Executive Education programs, in a fast growing organization. She/he helps build and run a robust portfolio of programs both at Harvard and globally. The Associate Director will be responsible for oversight of program delivery, digital marketing and web development, and online participant management systems in this dynamic growing department of GSD. She/he will have overall responsibility for the delivery of programs, will supervise staff, and will work closely with the Director to liaise with multiple constituencies, including clients, faculty, alumni, other Harvard schools and the central university administration.
In collaboration with Director and colleagues, creates and refines action plans and processes for existing and new programs – domestically as well as internationally - to ensure programs are administered successfully, and followed up appropriately, to a high level of customer satisfaction. Will help introduce more streamlined task management systems including their web interface to optimize workflow.
Works with Finance Director to oversee individual program budgets.
Works closely with Director to allocate resources, including finance & staff time, as needed, and to facilitate communications internally and externally Oversees marketing budget and office systems budget allocations.
Responsible for managing change; evaluates and implements improvements to administrative and programmatic processes.
Oversees all program delivery, including logistics, design of program delivery systems, and of events, including business continuity planning and emergency response planning.
Carries out responsibilities in a collegial, diplomatic and respectful manner.
The position supervises three staff within the Office of Executive Education.
Must be willing to travel abroad a few times a year. Work is mainly performed in an office setting, and also in other countries.

Bachelor's degree required
8+ years of increasingly responsible management and administrative experience, preferably in a business-facing academic environment.
Fluency in online registration and participant management systems including Salesforce.
Demonstrated success managing change in small teams, and building/managing new programs.
Must be willing to travel abroad, fluency across cultures.
Exceptional communication skills in working with complex teams and sophisticated intellectual ideas.
Proven written and tactful verbal communications, with multiple critical and competing constituencies.
Master's degree in related field helpful.
Knowledge of urban planning and design fields a plus, as is work on city development.
Harvard experience a plus.
Significant experience and responsibility developing and managing the administrative activities of a complex university organization/department, sometimes in the face of changing circumstances.
Ability to manage multiple activities in a time-sensitive environment, provide support under pressure and handle difficult issues sensitively and effectively.
