Clark University’s University Advancement Division seeks to fill the position of Associate Director of Advancement Communications & Operations. Reporting to the Executive Director of Stewardship, Donor Relations & Advancement Operations/University Advancement, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for obtaining and organizing data used for communications with Clark alumni, families and friends. This position serves as high level user of the Raiser’s Edge (RE) database and is responsible for high level tasks that require attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage email communications using a web based calendar from various teams within University Advancement and the greater University sent through the BBNC platform. This includes the creation, testing and final sending of email communications along with the creation of event pages and other applicable parts.
Provide data files for University Advancement clients, in accordance with the guidelines established by the team, using appropriate tools, such as Crystal Reports, Excel or MS Access.
Collaborate with the University’s web design staff and with various members of the University Advancement team to execute new email and event designs using BBNC templates, parts, forms, etc.
Partner with University Advancement colleagues to ensure the necessary RE coding structure to support event and solicitation activity including appeals and other tracking modules.
Use Google Analytics or other tools to evaluate effectiveness of online activity.
Support existing phone program by providing data and online resources necessary.
Test new BBNC functionality and evaluate its potential for advancing engagement activities.
Manage security roles in BBNC, as well as related role-based queries in RE.
Serve as a backup to the Assistant Director of Clark Fund Operations for social media applications to enhance alumni engagement.
Additional Duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in advancement or a related setting.
Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, and strong technical and analytical skills to include problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS and digital media, preferred.
Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (RE) and Blackbaud NetCommunity (BBNC), preferred.
Experience with managing social media platforms, preferred.
Strong attention to detail and precise time management skills.
Flexibility and high tolerance for change.
Proven track record for working well independently and as part of a team.
Ability to self-motivate and multi-task.
Ability to understand and embrace Clark’s mission as a liberal arts university with distinctive impact-based research opportunities for undergraduates and 26 graduate school programs.
Some weekend and evening work is required during reunion weekend.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion.
