In order to assist Sponsored Programs Administration the basic job function includes the following: Provide project management for tasks completed in SPA/OSP/CGA; helping to create, review, evaluate and interpret regulations, policies and procedures; special projects including, but not limited to, researching and resolving issues as well as creating resources; work closely with the Assistant Vice President to implement strategic project plans and new initiatives; manage staff who are responsible for coordinating training, and researching, collecting and analyzing data; effective monitoring and processing of internal and external communications to facilitate proposal and award processes.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Management or related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in at least one of the following: project management; pre-award experience including proposal preparation, review and auditing, and agreement preparation; post-award experience including interpreting and implementing financial award terms; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in various areas of research administration; customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills; good to excellent business writing and project experience; experience with presenting research administration topics in group settings; strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software knowledge; project management experience including keeping groups on task to complete large initiatives.
