University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking an Elevator Services Manager to join Department of Facilities, Operations and Maintenance - Elevator Shop. The selected candidate will coordinate and oversee all aspects of elevator service and maintenance for the University. The individual will be responsible for project management, coordination and reporting of all activities associated with the performance of work on UMB campus elevators.

Develops and Manages projects to repair, renovate, replace elevators and other related work.
Plans, organizes, assigns, and reviews technical maintenance and service work on campus elevators.
Supervises and trains assigned personnel; participates in performance evaluations and recommends areas for individual training and development.
Assists in budget projections, budget preparation and departmental planning for area of responsibility.
Ensures adequate supplies, materials, and equipment are maintained for the area; evaluates initiates documentation related to purchase transactions for equipment and services; recommends and supervises vendors; oversees the ordering process.
Acts as a liaison between University of Maryland, Baltimore and State of Maryland elevator inspectional services.
Coordinates and oversees all mandated elevator testing and inspections to ensure compliance with Safety Elevator Code.
Reviews elevator drawings and submittals for all elevator installations at UMB.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors in electrical and/or mechanical studies with an emphasis in electronics, electricity, and hydraulics required.
Experience: Eight (8) years progressive responsible experience in elevator environment, project management, maintenance and/or repair.
Supervisory: Two (2) years of work coordination.
Licensure/Certification: Licensure as an elevator mechanic by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations is required.
Certification as a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) in accordance with ASME QEI-1 standard is required
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.
