The City of Fort Worth Aviation Department has an Aviation Intern job available. You will work as a part of the administrative team to assist in the daily operations of Meacham and Spinks Airport performing administrative, project management, and special project activities for the department.
Aviation Intern job duties include the following:
Monitor and evaluate the day-to-day activities of airside and landside operations at City of Fort Worth airports to ensure compliance with lease provisions, policies and procedures, and other governing regulations.
Analyze specific operational problem areas as assigned by the Manager and/or Airport Operations Supervisor and reports back with recommendations and assists in proposed solutions and/or alternative operating methods or procedures; researches and compiles data as the basis for reports and recommendations.
Inspect airport facilities to ensure satisfactory levels of service, repair and maintenance. Interprets rules, regulations, policies and procedures and ensures lessee and tenant facilities are in compliance with these authorities.
Perform special projects and assignments as required, including monitoring budgets, ensuring accuracy and consistency with city financial records and project-specific data, downloading and analyzing system reports to identify errors and researching relevant information, tracking project/program expenditures and activities to analyze the effectiveness of programs.
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with major course work in Airport Management, Public Administration or a related field.
Possess Microsoft Office Skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and rules regarding airport operations and landside activities, principles and practices of airport operations including general aviation facilities and services, and community relations.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: This is a part time position working 19 hours per week from January 7, 2019 through April 26, 2019.
