The Faculty Affairs Coordinator for the Department of Dermatology reports to the Manager of Faculty Affairs and Education, and is responsible for the administrative duties related to the Faculty Affairs and Credentialing processes. The Faculty Coordinator will serve as a resource on UPENN and PSOM policies and processes related to faculty employment and career progression to the department Chair, DCOAP Chair, Education Officer, Vice Chairs, other members of administrative leadership like COOs and BAs, and of course all faculty. They will work to ensure compliancy and accuracy in all aspects of faculty affairs. Successful Faculty Coordinators act in a ‘lead’ capacity as project managers, demonstrating analytic/problem solving skills and the ability to manage non-standardized, widely varied work. This person will be the primary administrative resource for faculty development and retention activities, including but not limited to appointments, reappointments, promotions, and terminations. The Faculty Affairs Coordinator will coordinate faculty administrative appointments and renewals and will also have the responsibility for preparing and documenting the Departmental Committee on Appointments and Promotions (COAP). The Faculty Affairs Coordinator will coordinate all diversity activities in partnership with the Departmental Diversity Search Advisor. The Faculty Affairs Coordinator will also be responsible for the initial credentialing, reappointments, terminations, ongoing peer professional evaluations (OPPE) and focused peer professional evaluations (FPPE) reporting for the Office of Medical Affairs, and coordination of on-boarding and out-boarding processes.
