The program requires both internal and external coordination of requirements, subsystem design and verification\. A new Systems Engineering\\Project Management team is being established within the program to define and maintain the standards and methodology for the technical execution of our projects\. You will be responsible for maintaining Systems Engineering plans, ensuring proper requirements coordination and traceability, working with the team to define criteria and test verification\. Additionally, your role will require coordination and preparation for program reviews\. Responsibilities shall include incorporating earned value, risk management, and quality standards into the lifecycle of the project; project objectives, landmarks and deliverables, budgets, and schedules; acquiring and managing resources for planning, tracking, and executing the project plan initiation to close out; monitoring of work agreements, and contracting underway\. Additional concepts will be followed up with their own design, development, integration, and fielded demonstrations through FY24\. This position requires close collaboration with design engineers throughout Sandia as well as with outside FFRDC's and UARC's to include MIT/LL, JHU/APL and Aerospace\. Required: + You possess a Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Physics, Systems Engineering plus two or more years' experience or a bachelor's in one of the above\-stated disciplines with six years equivalent experience+ You have both training and experience in systems engineering and technical program management of multiple subsystems and/or components+ Your background includes experience with configuration management/information management/risk management+ You have a currently active DOE L \(or equivalent\) with ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance Desired: Ideally, your background would also include: + Ability to multitask and work effectively across several engineering disciplines+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as personal initiative, responsiveness, and attention to detail+ Strong technical writing skills and the ability to prepare effective documentation and presentations+ Familiarity or experience working with DoD and DoD Laboratories+ Some knowledge of the Defense Acquisition Systems+ Experience leading and/or participating in high visibility project teams on technically challenging assignments Department Description: The Advanced Concepts and Mission Payloads department is focused on defining advanced technology concepts and future target mission requirements in support of Missile, Air and Space Defense programs\.
