The Stewardship & Communications Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive fundraising communications plan that builds awareness of the AACC Foundation as a compelling charitable organization. The Specialist appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels. The specialist researches, writes, edits, designs and manages projects for all of the Foundation’s print and electronic communications including letters, reports, web content, stewardship/donor relations materials, press releases, presentations, briefings and collateral materials.
Researches, develops, documents and executes a comprehensive annual communications plan and stewardship calendar in collaboration with the Foundation’s fundraising team. Maintains monthly editorial schedule and appropriately manages projects to ensure all communications activities are completed in a timely manner. Initiates ideas and suggestions that enhance and improve the Foundation's communications.
The Specialist researches, writes, edits, designs and manages projects for all of the Foundation's print and electronic communications including letters, reports, web content, stewardship/donor relations materials, press releases, presentations, briefings, and collateral materials. In addition, the Specialist is responsible for drafting and mailing donor acknowledgment letters for gifts of all levels.
Work with fundraising team to develop and implement stewardship strategies that strengthen long-term relationships with major donors. Create stewardship plans for donors at various recognition levels and ensure plans are compiled, documented and communicated to all involved parties. Establishes and manages information tracking processes regarding recognition, on-going communications and continued cultivation of past and current major donors to enhance their relationship.
Expand the organization's online presence to achieve a higher profile and awareness for the Foundation. This includes managing and updating the website, Facebook and other social media accounts to ensure news is fresh and relevant.
Responsible for all of the Foundation’s photography and videography which is used in marketing materials by the Foundation to present a compelling story for fundraising. Produces creative and compelling visual stories for both print and electronic mediums through photo and video documentation.
Creates and designs graphics, logos, branding, and layouts for all of the Foundation’s communications pieces including reports, newsletters, brochures, event marketing, appeals, invitations, narratives, e-blasts etc…Researches, designs, and purchases promotional materials for donor acknowledgments and giveaways. Coordinates projects with outside vendors
Minimum of two years of relevant experience
Strong writing skills a must. Comfort in drafting communications for print materials and electronic media.
Knowledge of higher education fundraising and stewardship practices
Experience in designing high level communications pieces in the development field. Strong project management skills necessary.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) in Windows and Mac operating system, HTML and graphic design.
Creative thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to see the large picture and analyze situations. Able to develop timelines and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with multiple individuals and manage several projects at once.
Experience managing websites and working with Content Management Systems (CMS) preferred
