Under the direction and supervision of the printmaking faculty, the primary role of the printmaking Lab Technician works cooperatively with administrators, faculty, staff, students and vendors to technically manage and supervise the daily operations of the printmaking studio. The Printmaking Lab Technician works to ensure safe, secure, healthy and well-run facilities for the instructors and students; assists students and instructors. The Printmaking Lab Technician helps students with technical issues on projects, maintains equipment and materials, orders supplies and performs maintenance on the printing presses.
Typically a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Printmaking or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 3 years related experience. Familiarity with higher education is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge in technical expertise with a range of printmaking-related equipment and media, and an understanding of equipment and material safety. Preferred knowledge in lithography, relief, silkscreen and digital printing.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with administrators, faculty, staff, students and vendors, and demonstrated sensitivity to and respect for working with a diverse population. Ability to establish and maintain collegial working relationships.
