The Opportunity Insights Institute studies economic mobility through lenses such as education, neighborhood environments, and health to understand the drivers of economic opportunity in the country and give local policy-makers customized data and insights to help them craft effective policy solutions.
Supporting Harvard's new Opportunity Insights Institute within the Department of Economics and reporting to the founding directors, the Research Project Manager coordinate and manage research studies on their behalf and supervise a team of 12-15 pre-doctoral research fellows. This position will work closely with the research team to administer the research agenda, not specifically perform research.
Research Project Oversight
On behalf of the Founding Directors, oversee resource management within the research arm including coordinating workflow across and within multiple research projects in the lab and ensuring efficient and effective deployment of pre-doctoral fellow effort.
Proactively manage competing priorities for pre-doctoral work.
Work in close partnership with faculty and collaborators to ensure data protocols and University policies are adhered to.
Pre-doctoral Fellowship Program Supervision
Implement process for recruiting and supervising 12-15 full-time pre-doctoral research assistants.
Identify opportunities for pre-doctoral skill development within the scope of research agenda.
Manages and provides strategic recruitment for annual hiring of the pre-doctoral fellowship program.
Assist in coordinating data acquisitions from various public and private organizations; manage memorandums of understanding and nondisclosure agreements.
Interact with Office of Sponsored Projects and Internal Review Boards as needed to ensure compliance with all data protocols and University policies.
This is a term position through 8/31/2019 with strong likelihood for renewal.

Bachelor's degree; A minimum of 5 years of econometric research experience
Masters degree in economics or public policy strongly preferred,
