Responsible for the operation of the firm’s enterprise systems including financial, document management, CRM, knowledge management and many others, as well as the application servers on which they run. Supervises members of the enterprise systems team and their day-to-day workload which includes managing and maintaining the systems and servers, completing project work and ongoing technical troubleshooting. Serves as a member of the enterprise systems leadership team and is one of the primary liaisons between enterprise systems and other parts of the information services department and the firm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the daily workload, processes, and performance of enterprise systems team including conducting regular one-on-ones and providing direction on priorities.
Evaluate staff and manage performance and career development.
Act as a resource manager on projects; serve as a point of escalation for resourcing issues on projects.
Ensure system onboarding procedures, system documentation, and other departmental standards are followed. Continually improve documentation, standards and procedures.
Lead team to ensure maximum system uptime. Resolve any unplanned downtime or system issues and take steps to prevent re-occurrences.
Manage coverage/time off/on-call schedules, assist with agenda items and facilitation of staff meetings.
Lead team to resolve trouble tickets and performance issues with a sense of urgency.
Ensure appropriate alerts and monitoring are in place for all enterprise systems.
Serve as a member of the change advisory board.
Participate in the release management process; ensure conformity by the team.
Ensure disaster recovery documentation for systems is kept up-to-date; participate in disaster recovery tests and follow-ups to ensure successful application recovery and smooth execution of the tests according to the documented procedures.
Assist with budgeting and invoice management.
Liaise with internal customers and information systems colleagues demonstrating trusted advisor capabilities; provide leadership to the team members to fulfill their performance and professional goals.
Maintain job descriptions for the positions on the enterprise systems team; advise senior managers on organizational structure, definition of new positions and hiring when warranted.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
5-8 years hands-on experience in law firm information technology
3-5 years prior supervisory or management experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
