The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association is in search of an energetic and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative, creative and content support for the communications department.
A critical function of this role is managing the association’s awards program. Each year, hundreds of companies apply for NSSGA awards. The communications coordinator manages the application and judging processes and provides content for press releases and supports media relations programs related to the awards.
This person will have a hand in organizing a variety of projects, mastering a project management system, driving our association’s message, connecting with our members and shaping our communications across print, digital and social media.
There are opportunities for this person to manage content for NSSGA’s member publications, including the award-winning magazine and podcast, as well as write and edit copy for news posts, marketing materials and more.
Administer the annual awards program
Manage a project management system and track deadlines for association projects, including Stone, Sand & Gravel REVIEW magazine, the association’s annual report, marketing content and other communications outputs
Serve as primary point of contact for association members and calls to NSSGA
Assist in development of content for member publications
Process and keep inventory of invoices for communications products and services
Provide administrative support in preparation for key meetings and as needed for the organization
Assist in compilation and distribution of Digital Aggregates newsletter
Assist in management of communications planning materials
Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Communications
Minimum Qualifications, Competencies, Skills, Education, and Traits
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and fact-checking skills
Customer service skills
Project management skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred
