The Senior Director, Campaign and Prospect Management is responsible for managing the processes, metrics, and relationships that will lead to a successful comprehensive campaign. (S)he will drive on the campaign operating plan that includes volunteer structures and recruitment, case statements, and cultivation and solicitation strategies to secure leadership and major gifts to the campaign. This is an extraordinary opportunity that will require high level project management and collaboration across all levels of Marquette University and the constituents it serves. The Senior Director will also develop and enhance prospect management systems and processes across the division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Work with key University Advancement partners to plan and implement the university's comprehensive capital campaign. 2.Partner with deans, faculty, and development directors to implement comprehensive campaign strategies, including identifying and recruiting volunteer leaders. 3.Identify and implement key metrics to measure leadership level gifts to the campaign. 4.Oversee the university's gift agreement process, partnering with the Finance Department. 5.Serve as the university's liaison with the university's campaign counsel. 6.Manage information sharing, transparency, coordination and collaboration among colleagues in University Advancement and across campus. 7.Develop strategies to grow the size and value of the managed prospect pool through maintenance and analysis of information including pyramids, reports, and gift tables. 8.Facilitate prospect strategy management, tracking and reporting for different prospect segments. 9.Demonstrate a strong ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions that inform fundraising operations and shape outcomes. 10.Champion policies, projects and strategies that drive effective donor solicitation and relationship development. 11.Oversee university-wide policies and procedures regarding gifts, naming opportunities and comprehensive campaign practices. 12.In collaboration with the Advancement Communication team, manage internal communications strategies to keep colleagues across campus informed of campaign progress and status and develop plans to engage and involve deans, faculty and other university staff in the comprehensive campaign. 13.Manage the campaign budget. 14.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
At least 8 years of development experience in higher education or organizations with a national constituency, successful experience in major gift fundraising and experience in capital campaigns is essential.
Excellent communication, project management experience and the demonstrated ability to lead and progress groups and projects toward stated goals is also needed.
