This is a highly collaborative position that will work closely with faculty, staff, administrators and other instructional designers around the university to support online course design and development the goal of which is to ensure that pedagogically appropriate online tools are used to enhance the educational experience for our students.
Consult with faculty and staff on a variety of course design issues, including identifying student learning outcomes, identifying performance standards, fostering active and engaged learning, and selecting and implementing appropriate instructional technologies. Works both face-to-face and remotely with faculty clients across multiple campuses.
Consult with individual and small group faculty to gain faculty support for integrating instructional design principles, instructional strategies, learning theory and online best practices in the design, development, and teaching of engaging learner-centered courses
Provide direct faculty support throughout the course design and development process in order to ensure activities, assessments, graphic and multimedia elements align with course objectives and optimize student engagement in a digital learning environment
Participate in all aspects of QA processes during course design and development. Oversee functional technical review and testing of online courses.
Maintain deep knowledge of current and emerging trends, issues, and best practices in educational technologies and multimedia instructional development
Present at conferences, meetings, and events (both in person and virtual) relevant to the position
Support the inclusion of mobile learning applications, as well as integration with the Learning Management System (LMS)
May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time
May require periodic travel to other office locations within the state of Indiana

Ability to research and incorporate emerging instructional design and online learning theories and technologies into instruction. Maintain current awareness of issues and trends relevant to the position.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of recent relevant experience in online instructional design, working and consulting with faculty or other subject matter experts or experience with online instructional technology or teaching.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Customer service experience, excellent interpersonal and communications skills for collaborating successfully within a diverse University environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, curious about new technologies, and is willing to share what they learn in an open manner. Further the ideal candidate can work within a growing and often times shifting work environment and thrives on staying engaged with faculty as they grow as online instructors.
Master's degree; experience with online learning environments and emerging technologies; teaching experience at the secondary college/university level, especially online.
