Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for the School of Social Work. The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for: planning and oversight of all program activities, coordinating learning events, supporting per diem facilitator assignments, and conferences and community meetings. This position will especially be responsible for coordinating the development of community-based learning events and new partners. The Senior Program Coordinator carries out other duties as assigned while representing the program, office/division and IFF with highest level of professionalism and teamwork in interactions with program participants, stakeholders, SSW partners and general public.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Supports the development of a workplan and oversees implementation of support project deliverables, including schedules, resources and task assignments.
Identifies and recommends outside vendors and consultants to support deliverables.
Collaborates with organizational leadership to monitor project challenges, needs and accomplishments.
Oversees logistics including space, material and learning management system preparation, and interface with learners, instructors, and vendors to ensure effective delivery
Coordinates learning events conducted by the program, especially those related to technical assistance calls, local web-talks, conferences and other community events offered to deliver education and foster changes in professional knowledge and practice.
Interfaces with external stakeholders, vendors, organizational leadership, and other program team members to identify learning and logistics goals.
Analyzes data and writes reports on project deliverables for program leadership and state stakeholders in coordination with the leadership team.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two (2) years related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have some supervisory experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Problem solving skills, good organizational abilities, motivation and flexibility essential
Ability to work with a great deal of independence and discretion and to keep sensitive matters confidential
Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and maintain calm under pressure
Sustained attention to detail while maintaining awareness of important priorities
Ability to build relationships with persons at all levels of human service, awareness of cultural diversity and its impact on planning and provision of services, knowledge of community organization and collaboration building
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Access) or comparable products
Master's degree in social service area preferred.
Experience in coordinating large scale training or education projects.
Strong capability of working autonomously to coordinate and provide effective decision making to meet project needs.
MS Office software: word processing, database, project management, and spreadsheet applications
Expected to use and be familiar with copier machines, fax, and other office equipment
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Hours may need to be flexible to allow for evening and weekend work in training, site visits or related activities
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout New Jersey for business demands.
