The National Consumers League (NCL), America’s oldest consumer advocacy organization, seeks a highly qualified and dedicated Operations and Finance Manager, who will be responsible for office management, accounts payable, account receivables, payroll, and benefits administration. The Operations & Finance Manager reports to the Managing Director.
Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of NCL’s mission.
Assist in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of support services (e.g. HR, IT, Accounting), and facilitate coordination and communication between support and business function.
Provide support to hiring managers in employee/fellow/intern recruitment, selections including screening resumes, conducting interviews and or reference/background checks, and on-boarding new hires, including work station set up, computer procurement, employee benefits enrollment, and relevant employment documents.
Collaborate in the development of short and long-term strategic goals for operations.
Manage day to day operations for the mailroom, office supplies, and maintenance of personnel and administrative files.
Assist with the processing of employee benefits.
Oversee the maintenance of office equipment and scheduling of equipment service.
Assist in the develop of materials for meetings and program events.
Act as liaison with facilities management IT.
Manage day to day operations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the reconciliation and disbursement of petty cash, including data entry into QuickBooks.
Reconcile monthly credit card statements, including detail analysis of purchases.
Oversee the payroll process, including review of timesheet entries and leave accruals.
Assist with the annual audit preparation.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration
5+ years work experience in finance/accounting, human resources, and operations
Highly motivated self-starter
Passion for both people and processes
Proven ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
Experience using Accounting Software, QuickBooks preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects with different task leaders, set priorities, adapt to change, and solve problems.
Detail oriented with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
