Department Profile: Morgan Stanley's Global Sustainable Finance Group ("GSF") aims to drive the growth of sustainable investing through ongoing development of products and solutions, thought leadership and capacity building initiatives. The GSF team is seeking an Associate to support the team's incubation and execution of innovative sustainable investing products, solutions and services for clients of Morgan Stanley. Successful candidates will be a subject matter generalist with a passion for social finance, environmental finance and sustainability issues more broadly, strong attention to detail and nuance, and excellent writing, presentation and organizational skills.
Job Summary: The Associate will be responsible for project management, conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative research, developing summary topic briefs for an internal executive audience, and synthesizing key takeaways for an investor audience. The Associate may assist with project and process management related to other areas of the GSF team, including, but not limited to, thought leadership through Morgan Stanley's Institute for Sustainable Investing and/or functions of the Office of Sustainability, utilizing a similar skillset.
Responsibilities: -Support execution of innovative sustainable investing products, solutions and services for clients of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Institutional Securities Group through project management and close collaboration with partners across the Firm -Conduct thorough quantitative and qualitative research, including literature reviews, on a range of topics that support product development, thought leadership and other GSF initiatives -Produce summary topic briefs and presentations that synthesize key takeaways for investor and executive-level audiences -Assist with development and quality assurance of marketing materials, presentations, and pitch books for diverse set of clients and senior decision makers -Engage, as necessary, with other areas of GSF including the Institute for Sustainable Investing and Office of Sustainability
-Undergraduate degree; courses in finance or sustainability a plus -2+ years of work experience preferred -Strong and efficient research capabilities, with ability to prioritize and analyze information that is both quantitative and qualitative in nature -Strong PC skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel -Detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication and presentation skills -Comfort juggling multiple priorities; strong organizational and time management skills -Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or independently -Persistence, tenacity and drive for results -Wealth management experience a plus
