Student Assessment Manager
We are in search of a Student Assessment Manager to lead and develop a comprehensive academic assessment system in support of the school’s mission and strategic initiatives. With a high level of expertise in Second Language acquisition, assessment development and project management skills, the incumbent will ensure that the assessment system correctly measures student achievement and institutional effectiveness across all campuses and sites in support of the Director of Learning and Evaluation and School Principals. The Student Assessment Manager ensures that complete and accurate data is provided to the Learning and Evaluation department for assessment reporting. Additionally, the Student Assessment Manager will provide oversight to the Assessment team for both CRIPCS campus locations.
Plans, organizes, and coordinates campus-wide assessment systems, projects, and initiatives.
Develop and establish operating goals, policies and procedures of the assessment office, and as appropriate, administers operations and procedures to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
Provide leadership of the test development process of for English as Second Language tests and academy programs, including developing a timeline of the work, managing a team of test writers, critiquing their work and getting feedback from faculty and academic administration.
Together with the Curriculum Manager, co-lead Curriculum and Assessment Committee to advise on curriculum and assessment development.
Supervise the Assessment team across both campuses to ensure complete and accurate data for all students.
Train faculty and academic administration on test administration best practices and provide guidance to ensure the assessment needs of the Principals and school are achieved.
Participate in the collection of data and analysis of assessment data for both internal and external reviews and oversees the audit associated with assessment components for the Performance Management Framework (PMF) and Charter Contract.
Provide leadership in the testing portion of all registration events by working with academic leadership to select requirements for new students, and the hiring, training and advising of English placement testers to ensure that the process runs smoothly.
Master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition, Bilingual Education, TESOL or a related field and at least six (6) years of relevant experience or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience with project management in language assessment and testing, including experience with item writing and review procedures and with quality control processes.
Experience working in assessment or language education in one of the following contexts: U.S. K-12 Education, Post-Secondary Institution or Adult Education, or International Education.
Experience designing and implementing testing and research projects using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Experience with digital assessments and data analysis tools. (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to conduct educational language assessment.
Ability to research and write comprehensive reports involving data interpretation, effectively translating complex data for non- technical audiences.
Values teamwork and uses a shared leadership school-management approach.
Demonstrated commitment to a culture of assessment and data-driven decision making which includes the use of data to set priorities and promote student achievement.
Demonstrated skills in the effective management of organizations, operations, and resources.
Ability and willingness to work some evenings/nights.
