The Production Services Media Manager is responsible for supervising the production work of the Production Services Team in the design and development of high-quality learning media, as well as hiring, mentoring and training the student staff. This position provides visual, auditory, and graphical production recommendations for the enhancement of learning media. The Production Services Media Manager must communicate effectively and promote accountability, collaboration, and efficiency when working with both internal and external key stakeholders. The person in this position will use standard design principles in creating learning media for online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning experiences, and will have expertise with authoring tools and industry standards in video production.
The Production Services Media Manager will manage production services projects and resources to ensure on-time delivery of products and services. This includes collaborating with OHIO faculty to ideate on digital asset creations and identify opportunities to incorporate multimedia and video components, conducting pilots and proof of concepts for newly developed/revised training programs with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) and tracking project status and tasks to provide progress updates. The Production Services Media Manager is expected to develop standardization of workflow and contribute to the creation and review of content, quality control, evaluation, and oversight of Production Services projects.
The Production Services Media Manager is responsible for hiring and mentoring production services staff (up to 20 undergraduate/graduate students). This consists of developing training modules for student employee skill mastery, as well as managing student development/design performance and creating performance remediation plans as needed. To provide mentoring and training, the Production Services Media Manager will need to attend meetings and photo/video shoots with students.
The Production Services Media Manager will remain current with new practices and tools and apply learnings to related educational design research (e.g., contribute to publication of findings as needed, participate in the preparation of written documents, include procedures, presentations, and proposals).
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of work related experience. In lieu of the degree requirement, candidates will be considered with at least 7 years of work related experience.
At least one year of management experience.
Working knowledge of concepts and practices related to the field.
