Works closely with the Chief information Security Officer in the establishment, implementation and management of the overall strategies and procedures for the information security function. Develops and implements information security, incident response, risk management and business continuity programs in accordance with organizational information security standards. Evaluates enterprise risk on an ongoing basis and promotes information security awareness within the organization.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Directs the Information Security team of individuals, staff and leaders, including managing recruitment, retention, staffing plans, performance accountability, and annual performance management reviews.
Creates team structure to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, and manages individuals/team through changes necessary to improve that structure.
Creates functional strategies and specific objectives and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the Information Security program.
Coordinates and directs the activities and performance of staff members and other leaders within the team focused on implementing and supporting business enabling risk management practices.
Manages operational readiness of existing systems and services.
Works closely with business champions, sponsors, stakeholders, and IT staff to create strategy, approach, sequencing, and timeline for Information Security projects and programs, focusing on risk management practices.
Develops and maintains effective lines of communication and relationships with IT leaders and staff, and appropriate CCHS leaders and staff to ensure that the Information Security team is delivering effective and efficient projects and services.
Provides and presents organizational communication and education related to the areas of Information Security. Ensures communications are consistent and coordinated.
Leads organizational and departmental performance improvement activities.
Develops and manages budget for Information Security.
Manages vendor relationships within areas of Information Security
Identifies and pursues opportunities for continuing professional development to increase understanding of Information Security, information technology direction, and healthcare direction.
Provides intake mechanism for organizational ideas and leads the champion/sponsor through the initial stages of the project management methodology, to position the project for approval, and coordinate the handoff to the appropriate project manager.
Prepares for, coordinates, and chairs Privacy and Security Risk Management Workgroup, decision-making, and steering committees, including an emphasis on a multi-disciplinary approach.
Negotiates contracts with external vendors for services and products and monitor delivery of contractual obligations.
Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
10+ years of management experience with an emphasis on experience with large, multi-disciplinary, complex projects, programs, systems and/or teams.
Bachelors degree or commensurate experience in Information Security.
