Reporting in to the Information Products and Technical Services (IPTS) team, the Systems Specialist will be part of a dynamic hands-on team supporting Baker Library technology - ensuring KLS has the technology, workflows, and support it needs to satisfy a range of information needs of its scholarly and professional community.
Supports and leads the maintenance, enhancement and implementation of tools, software, systems and services, both established and new
Collaborates with Baker technical lead, technical team, partners, vendors, and library staff to evaluate current technology, ascertain gaps and technology needs, and develop and support specialized, core technology services for research and teaching.
Contributes to the ongoing identification and review of technology trends and innovative services across libraries and higher education
Works as part of a team to develop and provide services supporting digital archives and digital scholarship.
Key member of the development team with a focus on DevOps - participates in the Agile process and properly communicates estimates, tasks and status to the team and management.
Creates and manages Q/A test scenarios for inclusion into continuous integration.

Knowledge of digitization techniques, formats, and delivery mechanisms.
Knowledge and proven ability to work with LAMP environments and applications
Experience with software administration and engineering tools and processes (git, ant/maven, Jira, ansible, AWS)
Programming experience with some or all of the following languages: python, java, php, bash.
Works with KLS and IPTS Management Team to prioritize technology needs to ensure that technology investments support KLS' strategy and annual goals.
Works with HBS IT to plan and manage KLS IT needs.
Works with HU IT and Library organizations as needed to support enterprise library and computing applications.
Works with contracted support partners to support Web and CMS environment.

B.S. in Information Science, Computer Science or related field; 7 years of experience in supporting information technology and training, preferably in a library or academic environment including 3 years in Dev-Ops.
Experience with Symfony and eZPublish
Understanding of Solr
Experience with NewRelic
Creative problem-solving skills, patient and curious trouble-shooter.
Customer-service focus / user-centric attitude
Proven experience excelling as both an individual contributor and in teams as a part of a collaborative group
