The Editorial and Content Strategy team is seeking a talented Editorial Assistant to join their Communications Department. You will provide editorial, production, and administrative support to the Vice President of Editorial & Content Strategy and the staff of writers, editors, and producers for multiple platforms including digital, print and multimedia. As an Editorial Assistant, you will lead regular copyediting support and collaborate across all editorial function areas including creative, design and multimedia.

Provide general editorial project support, to include creating presentation materials, developing project timelines and coordinating project plans. Schedules meetings connected to various projects in which the editorial team is involved. Creates and distributes project meeting summaries and relevant data to partners across Communications & Marketing.
Support leading editors throughout all stages of the editorial production process, for both print and digital. Tasks include fact checking, copyediting, and producing digital content using Drupal CMS.
Coordinate with partners across MSK to gather relevant content for MSKCC.org and special editorial projects (MSK News, Annual Report, CancerSmart Events). Runs and maintains large-scale distribution lists for all editorial print publications. Participates actively in team meetings and where possible contributes original story ideas for the website and special projects.
Track faculty appointments, promotions, and departures, and assists in the writing, editing, and publishing of physician profiles on MSKCC.org.
Provide routine administrative support to the VP of Editorial, including maintaining electronic files, calendar/meeting management, and answering phones. Contributes to general office management, including answering main phone line and general email queries to Public Affairs. Leads the PO process for editorial vendors and handles all related documents.

Proven skills writing/editing content for the web and familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
General understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), Drupal or similar.
Experience working in a large multi-dimensional organization, higher education or healthcare preferred
