Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for a Creative Services Manager in the Office of Media & Marketing. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. The Creative Services Manager reports to the Director of Media & Marketing and is responsible for the design of IU Kokomo communications and marketing pieces, ranging from print to electronic. The Creative Services Manager provides leadership in the conceptualization and development of graphic images and content, which are integral to essential communications and presentation of IU’s strategic brand image.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: provide creative direction for products and services that aid the campus in attracting prospective students, retaining current students, soliciting donors, maintaining connections with alumni, and engaging friends and community; develop advertising campaigns, selecting appropriate mediums and vendors; establish design standards, create templates for routine tools (post cards, fliers, banners, posters, etc.); assist campus departments with production of non-specialty marketing items; work with campus clients to create marketing solutions by presenting concepts that convey branding and essential messages that achieve campus goals; design a wide variety of marketing pieces, completing copy, layout, illustrations, art, photography; collaborate with writers, editors and photographers to produce a quality product; ensure deadlines are met; partner with IT technical staff to assure the campus website presents the brand and images necessary to achieve strategic marketing objectives; review projects submitted to media and marketing through the online project management system; assign graphic design projects based on skill, time and availability; manage support staff; oversee the production of routine marketing pieces handled by the graphics specialist and other designers; provide coordination and guidance for scope of projects, ensure standards for quality are met.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in graphic design or new media; position requires a minimum of three years of experience in graphic design or similar field and three years of management experience; knowledge of a variety of design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Aperture, Lightroom, Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and web site content management systems.
