In the insurance sector, working throughout the insurance community, our rapid growth and ambitious plans have resulted in a requirement for several senior advisory professionals and technical specialists. We are looking for experienced insurance practitioners with the ability to contribute to a high calibre team that is already building a market leading business.
Our insurance sector facing account management team are looking to hire a Senior Manager to lead and develop identified key insurance relationships at senior levels, with a view to generating work from these prospective clients for the firm. These relationships will be across the insurance market; General Insurance (GI), Specialty and Life & Pensions.
We're ideally looking for someone to join the team in January 2019.
Your key responsibilities
You will be working with clients to understand their wide-ranging and complex needs, when faced with the significant business and regulatory challenges, and technological advances that characterise today's volatile markets. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and strategic alliance partners to find appropriate technology solutions to shape towards the client's bespoke needs.
This could range from using technology and digitisation to address an insurance client's concerns around cyber risks (e.g. identity and fraud solutions, cyber-attack), utilising Robotics & Process Automation (RPA), Data & Analytics (DnA), re-platforming (e.g. re-engineering legacy systems) and improving their customer's experience in areas such as underwriting, claims and billing.
Lead on developing identified key insurance relationships at senior levels with a view to generating work from these prospective clients for the firm.
Network widely within the firm amongst those currently and potentially providing services to the insurance sector.
Maintain and further develop the sector team's knowledge and knowledge management capability in relation to insurance sector's business drivers, issues and personalities
Will make significant contributions to sales strategy and have well developed financial skills
Will have credibility and business insight that can be demonstrated to partners
Skills and attributes for success
Able to network effectively within the insurance sector and within a large organisation to gain visibility, profile and engagement around focusing service offerings to this sector.
Experience of playing a leading role in a major insurance / programme management projects.
Experience of providing advice to and developing close, fee-generating, and trusted business relationships with clients.
Strong understanding of trends, developments and personalities in the insurance sector in the UK
Strong team player/team management skills.
Excellent relationship builder and able to utilise relationships to uncover and develop opportunities
Will be very perceptive, able to read people and an ability to communicate a message effectively
Well-developed oral and written communication skills
Able to present effectively and incisively
High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed.
An understanding of the risk management issues surrounding providing audit and other advisory services
Ability and experience in facilitating sales calls and coaching teams
Capability to comprehend EY's solutions in Assurance (e.g. Audit), Advisory (e.g. Risk and Performance Improvement), Tax, People Advisory Services and Transactions - translating these to client value and benefits
To qualify for the role you must have
Proven results in long term, strategic, solution sales and account management within a strategic solutions sales environment with a proven ability to lead teams brought together around an account opportunity
Proven experience managing complex sales process and long sales cycles
Exposure to major pursuit process (e.g. Target Account Selling)
Team based sales - will have worked with specialist to co-develop client needs
An excellent senior UK network in the Insurance sector (e.g. C-suite level)
A digital / technology solutions background
Ideally, you'll also have
Professional services / management consulting experience
MBA, degree qualified or post-graduate qualifications desirable or equivalent level of evidence of business understanding through work experience
