The primary function of the Web Content Specialist is to create, edit, and manage content on the University’s public website (www.ccu.edu), with a focus on compelling, accurate, and SEO-optimized content. The position will also implement ongoing web accessibility updates to ensure website compliance with accessibility standards. The Specialist serves as the main department liaison for internal clients, educating them on best practices for web content. The Specialist will establish and maintain a content review schedule for the public website, conduct training for web content editors, and manage content editor permissions in the web content management system.
In addition, the Web Content Specialist will serve as the primary contact for the University’s search engine optimization (SEO)/content marketing agency, helping manage SEO activities in order to increase organic search rankings for www.ccu.edu. The Specialist will help implement CCU’s content and keyword strategy and perform web page optimizations. The position will track, analyze, and report on website analytics, and recommend and implement updates to improve performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Create and update content for CCU’s websites and ensure adherence with CCU branding guidelines.
Develop and implement an ongoing review plan for web content accuracy and standards.
Train Communications & Creative Services (CCS) team members and internal clients on the University web content management system and related web applications to ensure adherence to appropriate implementation standards.
Track, analyze, and report website analytics.
Manage day-to-day relationship with SEO agency and oversee ongoing implementation of search engine optimization recommendations.
Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization, and use results to optimize copy and landing pages in order to drive visitors (especially prospective students) to CCU’s websites/landing pages.
Perform image optimization for SEO impact.
Collaborate with CCS team members to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on the University website.
Manage CCU's accessibility plan for ww.ccu.edu and oversee implementation of needed updates.
Manage CCU video content on CCU's primary Vimeo and YouTube accounts.
Oversee the creation and management of all event ticketing/shopping cart pages and advise clients on the best use for online forms and tools.
Regularly review digital content on the University’s digital signs, initiate new digital content requests and schedule all content on the signs.
Develop strong working relationships with CCS team members, internal clients, and departments throughout the University.
Manage a variety of research for web projects and provide analysis and recommendations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, or other related discipline preferred.
Strong background in web analytics, including Google Analytics and Search Console.
Experience using keyword research tools (e.g., Keyword Planner, SEM Rush, Buzz Sumo) preferred.
Familiarity with web accessibility tools and standards.
Experience in using graphic design tools including Adobe Creative Suite for basic photo editing recommended.
Able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously to meet challenging deadlines while interacting professionally with employees and clients.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Strong research and analysis skills.
Experience with web A/B testing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. Tasks will involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasional local travel and irregular hours are possible, including some nights and weekends.
