The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) has a Clinical Pharmacy Manager opening in our Ambulatory Care Division. This position will have oversight of the clinical pharmacy specialists and will work to evaluate clinical services, identify and develop reporting mechanisms for quality outcomes, evaluate clinical staff performance and provide guidance for performance improvement, as well as recruit, onboard, and provide orientation for ambulatory care clinical pharmacy specialists. This position will work closely with the director of ambulatory pharmacy services and ambulatory care managers to promote safe, optimal and cost-effective medication use processes and improve patient safety through innovations in technology and/or new program development and implementation.

Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Licensure as a Pharmacist by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy required by start date
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1/PGY2 Health System Administration Residency or minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a complex clinical pharmacy environment.
Ability and willingness to act as a preceptor
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong interest in ambulatory care
Job-related experience with and/ or commitment to service excellence
Job-related experience with and/ or commitment to diversity in the work environment
Job related experience in ambulatory care
Master of Science in Pharmacy or healthcare/management related advanced degree such as an MHA, MPH or MBA is desirable.
Experience with automation/technology, human resources management, project management and Epic electronic health record is highly desirable.
Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification is highly desirable.
