Position Summary: The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources recruitment and onboarding team and the HR department as a whole. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, onboarding new employees, scheduling interviews, formatting and posting job descriptions, managing job applications, collecting data for use and analysis as well as ongoing and ad hoc programs and projects.
This is an ongoing, part-time position and the schedule and hours may vary.
Work with new hires (staff, faculty, students) to facilitate their onboarding
Prepare for and meet with new employees to ensure that all pre-hire paperwork is complete
Occasionally travel to other campuses to onboard new employees
Scan new hire documents, audit new hire folders, checking for consistency in file names, preparing them for digital archive
Audit I-9 retention for compliance
Prepare New Hire Orientation packets
Schedule interviews for candidates
Conduct reference checks for lead candidates
Attend various Career Fairs as needed
Assist with processing of student employees and Volunteer paperwork
Assist with special projects
Other tasks as assigned
