This role also serves as a liaison between the business units and the software development teams by assisting in the requirements definition process and testing software to ensure quality standards are met.
Some projects require being embedded in the department most impacted or concerned with specific work flow and systems changes for an indefinite period. This will normally occur only on the largest and most high risk/reward projects. In those situations, the incumbent will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the senior manager of the business unit to which he/she is embedded.
Stakeholder feedback is considered in both project and annual performance reviews.
Participate in cross-departmental projects and provide assistance to the project team assigned. Provide support in all phases of the project cycle, which includes analyzing business needs, participating in solution design, and developing functional specifications (may include stakeholder interviews, business process analysis, and review of existing documentation). Assist in the development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle. Perform thorough quality assurance testing on new and enhanced features as assigned. Assist in developing executive project summary reports for discussion of project progress to senior stakeholders. Provide production support & troubleshooting to the business unit assigned as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related disciplines 2+ years of successful project management and business analysis experience Knowledge or prior experience in the finance industry Excellent verbal and written communication as well as analytical skills Basic Business Intelligence, Report Development, and / or Relational Database Experience Strong MS Excel skills
Experience working in buy-side asset management firms Project Management certification
