The Technology Education & Communications Specialist is part of the firm-wide Technology Training Department, this role is responsible for publicizing and promoting the IT organization and services to the firm to facilitate change management and adoption of technology by the firm’s attorneys and staff. This includes creating and/or reviewing technology-related communications that go out to end users; creating a consistent voice, documentation standards, and brand. The role is also responsible for the operational/transactional activities of the technology training team, including maintaining learning resources, administer the Learning Management System (LMS), scheduling, key performance indicators and metrics.
Develop marketing/communications strategies and associated deliverables that increase the awareness of IT services to the firm, as well as supporting projects and initiatives around technology changes and new/upgraded applications.
Develop technology-related surveys (supporting rollouts, training specific, and general end-user satisfaction).
Develop and maintain content on all IT and technology training-related pages on the firm’s intranet. Work with project managers to build user-facing project and/or program-specific pages.
Develop recurring IT newsletter to all firm users. Curate content from department leaders, project leaders, and others within IT and the technology training team.
Create and distribute timely end-user communications around operational activities such as maintenance and outage notifications.
Curate and categorize key content for the LMS to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience. Work with both internally developed content, as well as content from 3rd party providers to develop and maintain learning plans and an organized course catalog.
Coordinate with the Training team to maintain current training documentation and learning resources (both eLearning courses/videos and other learning materials), identifying gaps, updates required, or content that is no longer relevant.
Create and maintain monthly training and new hire orientation calendar, coordinating with training team to allocate resources, as well as service as point of contact for various training requests from offices and departments throughout the firm.

Advanced knowledge of windows-based systems and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with legal applications and concepts (such as document management systems and document assembly tools).
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, decision making and initiative. This includes ability to develop clear and targeted end-user communications and training documentation for our firm-wide lawyers and staff.
Superior attention to detail.
Solid understanding of end-user adoption/communication strategies around technology changes.
Be a self-starter able to work independently on assigned projects, while actively collaborating and working as part of a geographically dispersed team.
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
Experience in adult learning concepts, instructional design, user adoption, and organizational development.
Experience evaluating the effectiveness of learning design through the creation of assessments and evaluations.
Experience embracing and promoting new technologies.
5+ year of experience designing, creating technical training and communications to legal or professional services audience. Requires a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience. Industry certifications highly desired (Association for Talent Development, Society of Technical Communication, Microsoft MOS, etc.).
