Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is currently seeking a Business Reporting Analyst reporting to the Comptroller. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of business reporting from multiple information systems associated with Finance, Accounting, Payroll, HR and Purchasing. Individual will be a subject matter expert including testing, implementations, requirements gathering, troubleshooting, documentation and project management. Liaison to third party vendors and IT department for production support and enhancements as required. Provides direction to project teams as required.
- Provide operational and functional support and troubleshooting of complex user and application issues across all business areas. This includes assistance, advice, and coaching across multiple departments.
- Requirements gathering and liaison to IT for all system related enhancements and fixes. - Assist in maintaining user access rights and role centers. - Evaluate Enterprise Software capabilities and assist the effort to identify, prioritize and implement functionality that will improve the efficiency of business processes. - Coordinate and/or participate in end user testing and training of new or revised functionality. - Facilitate the change management process to track all changes to the system. - Develop business relationships and integrate activities with IT to ensure successful implementation and support of projects. - Develop reporting tools to facilitate analysis and processes of ongoing business concerns.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or IT related field
Experience: Minimum two-three years’ experience in general business application support.
Skills: Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook). Solid understanding of basic accounting procedures. Superior problem-solving/analytical skills; outstanding organizational skills; detail-oriented. Ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Experience writing reports using Lawson Report Writer (RW) and Crystal Reports. Knowledge and understanding of SQL programming. Positive attitude, energetic, inquisitive and professional manner in all interactions. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
