The New York Times Company is seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst. This role will report to the Assistant Treasurer and will provide analytical support with a primary focus on banking, cash and liquidity management, short term investments, forecasting and Treasury project-related work including international ventures
Cash Management and Banking
Direct short-term and long-term cash and liquidity forecasting and daily cash management, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement
Identify and implement cost saving opportunities and efficiency improvements by collaborating with internal clients, bank service providers and third-party processors
Oversee and manage existing treasury systems and future implementations
Maintain commercial banking relationships and manage the partner bank group, including allocation of business across banks
Maintain investment banking relationships
Oversee short-term financing vehicles and provide any required reporting and covenant compliance.
Provide support for other corporate financing requirements as needed
Assist with the execution and evaluation of derivative products around foreign currency and interest rate risk management
Own relationships with Rating Agencies
Manage active share repurchase programs
Oversee the modeling of long-term cash flows, balance sheet and interest income/expense. Provide forecast vs. actual cash flow and interest expense/income reporting
Oversee the Company’s liquidity metrics and covenant compliance reporting
Provide analysis, and draft presentation materials for, projects and various analytical cash-flow reporting as needed, including analysis of capital structure and dividends
Manage the company-wide capital expenditure forecast/budgeting system. Prepare analysis and reports to be used in operational and capital budgeting and planning process. Support development of business cases for capital spending
Manage and review analysis required for approval of capital expenditures
Provide daily oversight and longer-term strategic guidance for the investment portfolios
Direct management of corporate cash, investments, and marketable securities, including strategies for optimizing investment safety, liquidity, and yield. Develop and produce investment reporting
Risk and Insurance
Provide analysis and data for insurance program renewals
Serve as a point of contact for internal risk management needs, including certificate of insurance requests and urgent insurance issues
Collaborate with Business Units on operational issues such as credit card churn and international payment processing
Serve as company-wide foreign currency subject matter expert, providing guidance on foreign currency repatriation and cash management
Collaborate with operations to resolve operational and servicing issues
Provide analytic support for prospective acquisitions, divestitures and other investments
Formulate and communicate Treasury policies and procedures and ensure SOX compliance. Provide advice and counsel to business unit managers on financial and operational decisions
Formulate ideas independently and effectively convey recommendations to senior management
Collaborate with Reporting, and FP&A on accounting closes, earnings calls, and SEC filings

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
The individual should have strong analytical, communication, computer, organization and project management skills. At least three years treasury management experience that includes some exposure to international banking and cash management. Experience with Kyriba or any other treasury workstation system is a plus. An MBA, CPA and CTP certification are strongly preferred.
