Overview: This is a 75% (30 hours/week) professional position reporting to the Marketing Programs Manager. This position will build and publish website pages that meets the Arboretum’s strategic and tactical needs. Collaborate with members of the Arboretum to ensure pages are published in a timely manner. Exercise strong attention to detail to ensure pages align with brand and design standards. Stay apprised of industry digital marketing trends and best practices.
Areas of Responsibility:
55% - Support and web content • Continuously adapt and evolve the Arboretum’s web content, layouts, templates, styles, features, widgets and functionalities to reflect the Arboretum’s emerging brand. • Responsible for writing materials for the website and edit content from others. • Improve the theme and suite of tools by listening to needs of marketing team and people contributing content; identify and suggest solutions. • Collaborate with Arboretum content contributors across all departments to strategize and plan web content for the website. Responsible for generating quality written materials that will attract visitors to the Arboretum's website. • Improve and evolve user experience of Arboretum website.
35% - Project Management • Contribute to overall team planning efforts; helping to prioritize work and provide accurate estimates on completion of work. • Provide customer service, working with team members to troubleshoot issues when they arise. • Work to continuously improve and evolve how we deliver and manage our web presence staying current with trends in web design and development; regularly assess processes, make recommendations to improve efficiency. • Edit and proofread content created by others for usability, organization content, readability, and appropriateness for the intended audience. Suggest and make changes to enhance documentation. • Engage in U web/Drupal community.
10% - Administrative Duties • Attend pertinent staff meetings and project meetings as requested. Keep current on email and related staff communications, training, and other Arboretum related items.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • BA/BS degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or a combination of related education and relevant experience totalin 4 years. • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and problem solving • Strong written and oral communication and collaboration skills • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Drupal CMS experience • Minimum 2-years professional experience in content editing, design, and production. • Adobe Communications Suite experience
