The Assistant Sports Media Relations Manager assists in the planning, direction, and implementation of all media and public relations efforts for the athletics department, serves as the point person for LMU Athletics' social media strategy and supports a marketing program to improve and increase audience participation at home athletic events.
Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Media Relations and/or Public Relations or equivalent experience. Incumbent is expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 3 years experience working in athletics in a University setting within a marketing/media relations/sports information office, experience in social media/digital media marketing campaigns preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: creative software, specifically Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), working knowledge of video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Premier), proficient in Microsoft Office software, and experience with NCAA statistical software on PC based computer systems (StatCrew).
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports incorporating complex, highly technical information.
Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
Demonstrated computer competency with Microsoft office suite and other processing systems. Expert knowledge of graphic design and working knowledge of video editing. Must be able to type and enter media and statistical information.
