The North America Project Management Office Manager has functional responsibility for leading the Project Management Office (PMO) for the Systems & Solution Business in North America. Has indirect functional leadership responsibility for project managers within specific SSB NA vertical business structures. The person is responsible for driving business objectives, performing project reviews, continuous improvement and use of the Integrated Project Management (iPM) methodology for project execution within the project administration and project management functions.
Ensure all business units are applying consistent iPM methodologies, processes and tools.
Ensure project portfolio risk and opportunity is identified, assessed, and managed appropriately
Ensure planning, monitoring/controlling, forecasting, and reporting project outcomes is effective in achieving business and operational objectives.
Develop business objectives for improvement of project execution.
Set training objectives and facilitate training for the SSB NA Project Manager and Project Administrator community
Manage project review process including identification of target projects for reviews, identification and escalation of issues, and review of project risks and mitigation actions.
Business level reporting of Project Manager performance.
Review of Project Manager Quality performance, and collaboration with the Quality organization to drive continuous improvement and address escalated project issues and concerns.
Ensure alignment of PMO strategy, objectives, and activities through collaboration with other business functions to deliver regional performance objectives.
Drive continuous development of SSB NA PMO talent through professional certification and capability maturity assessments, regional finance project reviews, and quality reviews.
Lead internal process improvement (LEAN) activities involving the Project Manager community.
Must have strong collaboration and influencing skills
Must have excellent negotiation and mentoring skills.
Must have a strong, well-rounded, and regimented project execution style and recognize the value of standards within the organization.
Must have strong ability to lead, mentor and drive results through indirect leadership within a matrixed organization.
Develop a strong knowledge of the financial systems (IFS & SAP) used in SSB NA.
Responsible for being the Project Manager contact for applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
Reports directly to the NA Director of Operations and dotted line to the Global PMO leader
