Team Summary: The Advancement Systems team collaborates with business departments across the University to identify, implement, and support core, enterprise level, technology solutions that support the business operations of alumni affairs and development offices across the University. The team manages multiple applications such as Ellucian Advance, Ellucian SmartCall, and Ricoh DocMall. The applications managed by the team are the foundational data sources for applications managed by other teams within AAD and across the University. The team supports data integration with Student Information Services, the General Ledger, outside vendors, school data warehouses, etc.. The team delivers customer focused service in the areas of business requirements/solutions development, application development, project management and implementation, production systems support, and end user support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define and implement Q/A technical strategies, including automated and in-person user testing, for Advancement Systems' applications and ad-hoc requests
Contribute to the continuous refinement of quality processes that improve the overall quality of the Advancement System team's software
Trains other team members to utilize best practices for application testing
Design and execute clear, well-formed, and effective test plans ensuring accuracy and completeness of applications against business requirements
Identify, troubleshoot, debug, and work with the developers to resolve defects on an advanced level, engaging assistance from ATSS and other departments where appropriate.
Works with Business Analysts and Developers to ensure enhancements and upgrades meet requirements and user needs.
Establishes process for user acceptance testing of new application or features
Validates accuracy of backend data changes
Writes scripts to test data applications against underlying data or other reporting tools
Ensures all QA documentation is consistently organized and archived in adherence with audit standards
Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced
Provide support during project go-lives, which may include occasional evening or weekend work.

Graduate from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree required, preferably with coursework in information systems or information technology. Minimum of five (5) years of experience on a technical/ implementation team. Minimum four (4) years of experience in a role with Quality Assurance/Systems/Business Analyst Responsibilities. Experience writing SQL queries against complex data models.
Knowledge of fundraising data and Harvard preferred.
Familiarity with relational databases, Oracle, and SQL.
Ability to become proficient with the Harvard Development Systems
Experience testing advancement applications is a plus.
