HCA Corporate Office Location. The PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency program is built upon many years of successful health-system management. This program builds upon PGY1 residency graduates’ competence in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services and in operational services to prepare residents who can assume leadership responsibilities. Upon graduation of the program, residents are prepared for management roles in a variety of work settings, including small to mid-size hospitals, large health-systems and non-traditional pharmacy settings. Required rotations include: Health System Administration Operations and Practice Management, Clinical Decision Making and Leadership, Organizational Innovation & Change Management, Health Policy, Practical Applications in Leadership; Longitudinal experiences in professional development, Clinical Practice site at a local HCA facility, and Research and Project Management. Practice Sites include the HCA corporate and division offices in Nashville, Tennessee and an assigned HCA facility. An optional teaching certificate is offered through the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy.
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy; Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 general practice residency; Licensed Pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee; Letter of intent summarizing reason(s) for pursuing residency training, professional goals, both short-term and long-term, and why you are interested in the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)/University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy Residency Program; Current curriculum vitae; Three letters of recommendation; One official transcript submitted through PhORCAS; On-site interview (Late January and February).
Residents are expected to seek licensure in the state of Tennessee no later than 30 days prior to the start date of the residency. This includes taking the MPJE and applying for reciprocation, if applicable.
