The Academic Advisor will: provide academic advising on a full-time basis to the College of Education’s undergraduate and initial licensure populations; guide students in the development of decision-making skills; advise students regarding the University’s policies, procedures, rules and regulations; advise students with regards to academic requirements for COE majors; use data to inform advising decisions and programming; provide instruction through workshops and other avenues; assist with presentations of academic information for recruitment and orientation purposes; identifying and implement retention programming and strategies; collaborate to staff recruitment and retention events, including some travel, nights, and weekend work; establish relationships with faculty and staff members; perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Coordinator for UG Advising, Assistant Dean of UG Affairs and Educator Preparation and/or the Dean of the College of Education. The position may also include teaching COAD 1000 when needed.
