The Program Manager will also research and write printed materials and web site content; create and monitor program evaluations; assist in budget preparation and manage expenditures; prepare reports; and maintain program documentation and files. An additional critical element is the support of mentoring for career and professional development exploration. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with industry and universities to develop and advance existing partnerships; as well as work collaboratively with faculty, staff and other key stake holders across campus. The position will also support other projects and initiatives as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Professional Development.
Support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in exploring diverse career options, including careers within and beyond academe. Collaborate and fully participate as part of an energetic fast paced team.
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
Reasonable, increasingly responsible experience as a successful member of a high-level support team in program development.
Understands and values diversity and the importance of inclusion as demonstrated through a commitment to apply and incorporate the differences, complexities, and opportunities that diversity brings to an organization.
Evidence for implementing effective and innovative professional development programs and services.
Ph.D. or Masters in STEM-related field and experience with graduate student professional development programming.
Strong preference for individuals with Industry experience.
Knowledge of University organizational structure, policies, procedures and practices; familiarity with appreciation of the diverse cultures of the schools, colleges and units of the University.
Familiarity with a wide range of professional development related social media communications (e.g., Twitter, LinkedIn) and digital collaboration tools.
