Job Description Summary
Under minimal supervision, serves as the Financial Analyst as part of Campus Financial Services. Responsible for understanding management operations and making qualitative and quantitative recommendations. Conducts special projects and analyses for various diverse units throughout the University.
Serves as Financial Analyst as part of Campus Financial Services. Projects may include the following: working with other departments on financial projects; analyzing the profitability of auxiliary units; coordinating and evaluating debt-related assignments (includes current and proposed debt issues, interest rate swap agreements and other debt and interest analysis); preparing and coordinating various financial analyses for senior management and external agencies
Prepares and presents quarterly Management Operational Reviews of selected units. Responsible for understanding operations and making qualitative and quantitative recommendations based on findings.
Assists with the preparation of data for unrelated business income tax (UBIT) calculation.
Prepares and submits annual budgets and forecasts for Campus Financial Services' clients.
Tracks and monitors data related to personnel expense.
Prepares presentations for various executive and departmental meetings.
Makes recommendations for policy and process improvement based on analysis of current and proposed programs.
Assists in the Human Capital Management of Campus Financial Services' customers where needed. Roles may include: workflow assistance, HCM process guidance and assistance, payroll process initiation, and any other Human Capital Management responsibilities as needed
Performs due diligence on legal and compliance issues as identified.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Solves problems associated with management operations, budgeting, and making qualitative and quantitative recommendations.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
BS in Accounting, Business or Finance with three to five years directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet. Knowledge in Workday, Cognos' Reportnet, and Banner a plus.
Background in budget and forecasting preferred.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written; strong interpersonal skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Well-developed understanding of management operations.
Well-developed planning, administrative, and project-management skills.
Ability to establish goals, prioritize tasks, and mobilize resources in a time-critical environment.
Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural questions.
Ability to analyze an issue and propose viable solutions.
Technical knowledge of general accounting, planning, and financial reporting policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Walking, typing, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
