Assistant Director of Admissions - Human Performance 10399
The West Virginia University Department of Human Performance is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Admissions. This position will serve as the chief admissions officer and is responsible for leading the operations of the Admissions Unit of Professional Programs Student Services from prospective student status through enrollment.
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Management of the web-based CAS applications systems, management of applications processing for all programs, recruiting and counseling potential students and compilation of statistical admission reports.
Creates and generates reports from systems in order to compile data. Serves as the liaison for the applications services.
Oversees and manages the application, admission, interview and matriculation of qualified candidates for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Immunology and Medical Microbiology and Physical Assistant Studies.
Supervises one full-time program manager.
Manages the day-to-process of the selective application process for Immunology & Medical Microbiology.
Counsels and advises prospective students and families regarding the application process.
Serves as a recruiter and public face to the all programs under Professional Programs
Analyzes admission and enrollment data and compiles reports.
In absence of the Assistant Dean, manages the office and attends meetings.
Three (3) years of Higher education experience; admissions or related area; preferably health sciences
Two (2) years - Strategic Planning/Project Management
Two (2) years - Supervisory experience
Must be proficient in Excel
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Must be comfortable and effective with public speaking
Must have excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents
Demonstrated customer services skills
Demonstrated competency with software including excel and word. Target X and Banner preferred
Demonstrated competency with web based systems and data bases; implementation and maintenance
Ability to supervise others; set goals and lead
Valid Driver's License. Travel is required.
