Position Summary: Coordinates acquisition and distribution of in-kind donations for programs. Participates in VCCR Departmental responsibilities which include promoting volunteer opportunities, speaking engagements, administrative tasks, and transportation of in-kind donations.
General Purpose: Promotes the mission of The Night Ministry through education and engagement of in-kind donors and volunteers.
Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders of The Night Ministry, especially volunteers and in-kind donors
Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, across diverse programs
Respond promptly and effectively to internal and external volunteer/donor inquiries, directly or by referral.
Lead Service Saturday events and other service projects
Participate in the solicitation, receipt, and tracking of in-kind donations and gift cards.
Transport in-kind donations from donors to office, off-site storage, and programs.
Maintain in-kind and gift card inventory system at office and off-site storage.
Maintain in-kind partnerships with community organizations.
Track food donations for street outreach programs to ensure that inventory is not expired.
Represent the agency in speaking engagements, including corporate Lunch & Learn events.
Participate in departmental evaluation activities.
Participate in the department's activities related to the annual Holiday Celebration, including acquisition and tracking of gifts, quality control, wrapping, distribution, and thanking donors.
Maintain familiarity with agency's mission and target populations and communities served using current literature and agency materials
Attend staff, agency, and inter-agency meetings, trainings and seminars as assigned; participate in the agency's public relations and fund-raising activities as required
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Essentials skills and experience:
Minimum one year experience doing similar work in a non-profit environment
Creative, detail-oriented team player and self-starter who can stay organized and multi-task in a busy environment
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment
Excellent interpersonal, writing and public speaking skills
Current driver's license, good driving record, and evidence of insurability
Able to maintain a flexible schedule, with frequent evening and weekend work, including up to two weekends a month, and the days leading up to Christmas Eve.
Demonstrated success and comfort working with diverse populations, cultural and faith traditions
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, database, social media, internet)
