This employee servesas the point of contact for projects in the Interpretation and TranslationServices (ITS) program of the Tennessee Language Center (TLC). This position isin charge of completing all steps in the process of managing interpretation ortranslation services offered to external clients. The employee's bilingualskills also will be further developed to reach competent levels as an ad-hocstaff interpreter.
·Communicate with clients aboutspecifications for each project, such as time-lines and deadlines, targetaudience, desired delivery method, and supporting documentation.
·Recruit and assign translators and/orinterpreters for each project or assignment, using established criteria.
·Use online and customized databases totrack, monitor and ensure quality in work products, fulfillment of deadlines,and adherence to contracts.
·Assist in the organization of, andparticipate in, various training and orientation opportunities for interpretersat different levels of professional experience.
·Organize documentation, paperwork andonline forms, and have them ready for processing by the financial department.
