The Director, Advancement Information Services provides leadership to a variety of AIS technical projects, programs and processes in support of developing a business process management center of excellence. The Director leads Blackbaud CRM (known as MarqIt) development and training sessions, cross-functional activities and projects, as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand Advancement and AIS processes, workflows, structure and general strategy for data management. Advise external departments on their usage of the application and data.
Manage one staff member whose primary function is database conversion clean-up projects as well as ongoing data management. Assist in coordination of workflow with assistant and departments external to Advancement Information Services and University Advancement.
Manage assigned projects from concept through plan development and execution. Produce project and program updates and documentation on business process design initiatives. Deliver outcome-based research, development and design services to facilitate project and program implementation.
Work with Senior Director, Advancement Information Services to develop and track MarqIt training curriculum and to facilitate testing and training. Assess and report on training needs to support the MarqIt infrastructure in place within University Advancement. Present training sessions customized to the department, including train-the-trainer sessions.
Serve as a resource in development of MarqIt training sessions where the subject matter expert would serve as the trainer. Assist in session development, presentation, messaging and scheduling as needed.
In conjunction with the Director, Reporting & Data Services, establish and maintain an effective project portfolio management process, ensuring on-time and goal director delivery of prioritized initiatives.
Serve as back up to the administrator of University Advancement’s SharePoint site, Advancement’s HelpDesk portal(Cherwel) and MarqIt Security changes and updates.
Use InfoPath to create and edit forms for University Advancement.
Serve as MarqIt Functional Lead support for the Blackbaud Internet Solutions (BBIS) product. Liaison with Director of Direct Marketing for consultation and integration between work done on the Information Services and Annual Giving teams.
Maintain complete and current knowledge of the files, fields and structure of the University Advancement database.
Maintenance of database and data entry as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
3-5 years of professional experience in non-profit administration or information services.
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated skilled use of Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising enterprise application strongly preferred, as well as Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint.
A commitment to developing project management skills and understanding business process management principles is essential.
Strong problem solving abilities and the ability to exercise independent initiative as appropriate, be very well-organized, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively deal with a variety of administrative offices in a highly professional and confidential manner are essential.
